Pantech C810 Cell Phone Review

The highlight of the Pantech Duo C810 is its unique dual-slider design. Slide the cover up to reveal a standard dial pad; slide it to the right and you’re presented with a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s ingenious in its own way, though not without a few caveats. As a Windows Mobile 6 device, the Duo includes Microsoft Office Mobile, with which you can open and edit Word and Excel documents, and view PowerPoint presentations (you can’t create any of these documents on the device, however). It also includes 3G/HSDPA support for high-speed Internet connections. It’s not as well-designed or feature filled as the AT&T Tilt. Nonetheless, those who want smartphone features, but don’t want a device that looks like a smartphone should check out the Duo.

Motorola Q9c Cell Phone Review

The Motorola Q9c has a lot to offer in a fairly slim and sleek design for a smartphone. In addition to supporting Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6 smartphone OS, which is like having a mini computer in your cell phone, it’s geared toward multimedia, with streaming videos and music capabilities. However, as such, it doesn’t boast the best battery life when the multimedia features are used frequently. On the upside, you can access multiple e-mail accounts and create Office documents on the fly using this smartphone.

LG VX10000 Cell Phone Review

The LG Voyager is essentially the SUV of cell phones. There’s no denying that it’s big and bulky, and while it’s not exactly pocket-friendly, it does well when transported in a purse. It’s got its fair share of expected features, including stereo Bluetooth, TV and video watching capabilities, a 2-megapixel camera, a full QWERTY keypad, and the piece de resistance: a fully operational touch screen that’s as fun to use as it is functional.

Palm Centro CDMA Cell Phone Review

Think of the Palm Centro as a user-friendly smartphone that doesn't take a lot of know-how to get started with it. Its budget price point and features set are designed to attract those who think they might need more than a standard cell phone offers but don’t quite need BlackBerry-type power. As a device to ease your way into the world of smartphones, the Centro largely succeeds, but not without a few compromises, such as no Wi-Fi connectivity and a severely cramped keyboard.

Samsung SGH-A737 Cell Phone Review

The Samsung SGH-A737 is one of those cell phones that looks like a basic phone, but in this petite package is a ton of multimedia functionality. Since it supports the latest in high-speed 3G data networks (HSPA), you can watch streaming video, listen to music, and more with ease. This world phone is also equipped with a 1.3-megapixel camera for snapping pics and shooting video. There’s a lot that you can do with this cell phone, and as such, it will likely take you a while to master all it has to offer.

BlackBerry 8130 Cell Phone Review

There’s a good reason why everyone has been buzzing about the BlackBerry Pearl being available for Sprint and Verizon Wireless: It’s the first BlackBerry device that has done an amazing job at integrating cell phone functionality with the company’s trademark e-mail offering in a device that’s as easy-to-use as it is stylish (available in a variety of colors, which let’s face it makes it all that more appealing). Oh, and that trackball is just fun to use. Besides all that the 8130 has quite a few improvements over the original Pearl, that just makes it even easier to use. The only drawback is less than stellar battery life. If you’ve always wanted a BlackBerry, but just didn’t like its bulky casing, the Pearl is the model to checkout.

Motorola Q9h Cell Phone Review

However, as such, it doesn’t boast the best battery life when the multimedia features are used frequently and Bluetooth is left enabled.
Samsung SCH-U900 Cell Phone Review

Ah, the Samsung FlipShot (a.k.a. SCH-U900) camera phone -- what’s not to like about a bright red (or slick black) cell phone with a built-in 3-megapixel camera, a decent MP3 player, solid call quality, and impressive battery life? For anyone on the lookout for a decidedly Lilliputian cell phone, the FlipShot’s size, in short, would be a deterrent. It’s true, the FlipShot isn’t the smallest cell phone we’ve seen to date, but it’s not exactly oversized either. It’s actually a solid cell phone that looks good and is essentially fun to use.

Samsung SGH-I617 Cell Phone Review

Smart and stylish—it’s an ideal combination for any companion. That’s certainly the case with the BlackJack II (SGH-i617). Its good call quality, 3G support, strong messaging features, and stellar battery life make the BlackJack II a product you want to spend time with. Its slim, sleek appearance make it a device you want to be seen with. That’s not to say it’s perfect—we had some issues with the design and menu structure—but there are enough improvements over the first-generation BlackJack to make this smartphone a worthy successor.

HTC Tilt 8925 Cell Phone Review

Amid all the big-name smartphone manufacturers, HTC has been quietly making some of the best products out there. The HTC Tilt certainly fits the bill. Though not as sexy as the HTC Touch, the Tilt is an ideal device for heavy-duty messaging. It’s bulky and heavy, but that’s the tradeoff for having a full keyboard and tilting display. Add to that such features as a 3MP camera, a touch screen and QWERTY keyboard, support for BlackBerry Connect, and—rejoice!—built-in Wi-Fi, you have a device that’s suited both for mobile professionals and everyday users.

HTC PPC6900 Cell Phone Review

HTC is quickly developing a reputation as the maker of some of the slickest, smartest smartphones available. The HTC Touch is a case in point. A small, light profile, EV-DO support for high-speed Internet access, and some clever touch screen features make this a lust-worthy smartphone. But being sleek comes at a price—in particular, the lack of a physical keyboard makes text input a challenge, which could diminish its appeal for many users.
